MTS talks mining technology at MINEX Kazakhstan

MTS discuss all things mining technology at the Astana MINEX Forum, 2025

The energy at this year’s MINEX Kazakhstan Forum in Astana was palpable. For the team at Mine Tech Services (MTS), the event was a powerful reminder of the incredible momentum currently driving the mining sector across the CIS region.

We would like to start by extending a sincere thank you to Kathy Leach and the UK Embassy for hosting such a wonderful opening reception. It provided the perfect setting for the meaningful conversations that followed throughout the week.

A Region in Motion

What struck us most during our time in Astana was the sheer scale of opportunity currently unfolding. Kazakhstan and the wider region is at a pivotal crossroads, seeing a surge in ambitious new greenfield projects alongside a sophisticated drive to modernise established brownfield operations.

There is a clear appetite for digital transformation here. We saw firsthand how operators are looking beyond traditional methods, embracing automation and data-driven insights to boost efficiency and safety. It is an inspiring trajectory, and one that resonates deeply with our mission to push the boundaries of mining technology.

Bridging the Gap: Local Insight, Global Expertise

Our primary focus at the show was to demonstrate our long-term commitment to the CIS region. We know that in mining, technology is only as effective as its implementation on the ground. This is where MTS truly excels.

By combining our local language skills with a global perspective on mining technology, we are uniquely positioned to assist mines in navigating the complexities of modernization. We don’t just offer tools; we offer a partnership that understands the local context while drawing on international best practices. Whether it’s overcoming a specific operational hurdle or designing a site-wide tech roadmap, we speak the language of both the data and the mine site.

Reconnecting and Looking Ahead

Beyond the formal sessions, the true value of MINEX lies in the community. Great to see Ros Lund and productive first meetings with Sergei Sabanov, Zhanel Zhakupova, Alexey Ragulin, and Damian G., all focused on the exciting trajectory of mining in Kazakhstan.

As we reflect on a productive week in Astana, we are more energized than ever to support our partners across the region. Whether a mine is just breaking ground or looking to revitalize its legacy systems, MTS is ready to help bridge the gap between today’s challenges and tomorrow’s potential.
