Asset Health Technology and System Development
Newmont Suriname, Merian Mine, Suriname, 2016-2024
From Data to Insight…
Since 2016, MTS has provided advanced support to this greenfield operation to develop and implement systems that underpin a robust Asset Health function. This collaborative project has been instrumental in the digital transformation of mining operations, delivering custom reports, dashboards, interfaces, and productivity tools tailored to the operation’s specific business needs.
By leveraging multiple data streams through intuitive, user-friendly platforms, MTS enabled real-time visibility into asset conditions. This empowered the site’s teams to make data-driven decisions that help optimise asset performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life—critical outcomes for any advanced mining fleet management system.
Listening closely to the customer’s goals, MTS crafted innovative, technology-driven solutions aligned with modern mining industry software expectations. The project also included full support for ERP and planning systems integration, user training, and the rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This initiative aligns closely with emerging mining trends, supporting proactive maintenance, improved equipment utilisation, and long-term sustainability—key factors in modern gold mining processes and mining development strategies.
